  • According to the Bureau of Meteorology, Turramurra was the wettest suburb in Sydney in the years 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014.

  • Turramurra is an Aboriginal word which is thought to mean either high hill, big hill, high place, or small watercourse.

  • North Turramurra, Turramurra and South Turramura are all considered separate suburbs; East Turramurra is an unofficial locality.

  • Sheldon Forest, found on the south-eastern boundary bordering Pymble, is home to some of Sydney’s best preserved blue gum and turpentine trees.
